Externado University, through the Emerging Market Initiatives Program -EMI- of the School of Management will continue to work in partnership with RECON for the strengthening of social entrepreneurship.

After having worked on the strengthening of six social enterprises in 2018, we will continue working in the first semester of 2019 with five more, which were selected by RECON taking into account criteria of innovation and sustainability in their projects. Those selected to take this program are: Andrés Orozco from Pide Vida, Ricardo Alba from Ekoducha, Francy
Colorado from Tu Basura is my Negocio, Andrea González from Lista Negra and Jorge Giraldo from Ilusión Colombia.

This alliance symbolizes a great contribution in the work of joining efforts for the preparation of social entrepreneurs that can transform realities and create opportunities for economic and social development in vulnerable communities to build a different future.

The EMI Program seeks responsible development through a new generation of leaders, and is the result of years of training of young professionals to carry out consultancy work for new or emerging market businesses in Colombia.

The social enterprises will be joined by foreign students and teachers who, for three weeks, will diagnose their business models to develop an improvement plan with recommendations aimed at achieving profitability and sustainability. Furthermore, the entrepreneurs will participate in workshop sessions on topics such as Circular Economy, Innovation, Ying Su and Design Thinking.
