Description of Social Entrepreneurship

It is the first and only radio and digital space where it is promoted in respect of sexual diversity and gender, through the Cartagena collective interest station, we are dedicated to producing content of values that sensitize the general public about respect , gender equality and human rights.

Through social networks and the traditional radio environment, we have managed to create a social entrepreneurship process that creates bridges and helps the LGBTI population to know their rights and create a radio program with a gender, human rights and human rights approach. youth perspective.

What led you to create your Social Entrepreneurship?

The Colombian Caribbean is a region with a class, patriarchal, sexist and homophobic social structure. In each corner of the Caribbean, discourses of exclusion and social segregation are raised to people with sexual orientations and non-heterosexual gender identities. As a result, since 2017 we decided with a group of activists and institutional allies to create a space that will allow raising awareness before society that aims to promote respect for women and diversity, as well as actions and events they perform historically discriminated social groups. Juventud Diversa Radio becomes an innovation strategy that impacts all cyberspace and has allowed us to relate to other processes that, like us, seek the vindication of our human rights in countries such as Mexico, the United States, the Dominican Republic and Peru.

How does your Social Entrepreneurship impact your community?

We have managed to create acceptance before the citizens of Cartagena, but every day we grow in ratings and trends with the support of social networks. (facebook, instagram, twitter, youtube), our program has become a benchmark that seeks to show another face of the region and our country, such as our advances in legal matters and the processes that women have been advancing in the most vulnerable neighborhoods of Cartagena , youth entrepreneurship, the struggle of trans women and the challenge of ethnic groups suffering from racism and lack of opportunities.

What do you dream of happening with your Social Entrepreneurship?

Our dream is to become the most influential digital and radial medium of diverse topics in all of Colombia, producing content of values that impact society and contribute to the construction of a culture of respect, equity and human rights in a country that needs it so much. . Because we are diverse and we all deserve respect.
