Description of Social Entrepreneurship

C.O.R.E Humanitarian Demining designs and develops tools to help with the neutralization of antipersonnel mines and unexploded ordnance in war zones in order to recover the land for the civilian population.

We are the creators of the first Colombian system of “termite burning” or TBD. Designed and manufactured in the Boyacá region, it is a 100% Colombian tool that is capable of destroying an explosive device impacting with a compound that at high temperature “melts” the explosive.

What led you to create your Social Entrepreneurship?

Our motivation is to contribute from our knowledge and ingenuity to solve a crucial problem for the development of our country.

It is a project that was born from our university time and in a process of trial and error we have achieved unique achievements in this sector.

How does your Social Entrepreneurship impact your community?

A country without mines is a country with towns, roads and fields ready for progress!

Colombia is the second country with more victims by mines in the world. Our technology helps to increase the efficiency of the process of disposal of explosives installed throughout the country.

The recovery of the areas affected by antipersonnel mines is crucial for the advancement of the rest of social programs for peace, such as agrarian, government, education, security, work, etc. programs.

What do you dream of happening with your Social Entrepreneurship?

We dream that one day our venture is not necessary for anyone!

For now we work so that our tools can reach the hands of all the entities responsible for this important work, in Colombia and in all countries affected by the scourge of mines.

“In C.O.R.E we know that we can change the world, but every destroyed mine changes someone’s world.”
