Description of Social Entrepreneurship
We are a group of rural youth that, together with the Afro-descendant and indigenous families and communities of our municipality, create the Hernando Trochez Farmers Association, whose mission is to influence, educate and offer support services to its associates in an attempt to create an environment Ecologically sustainable, a profitable business in a changing world, preserving freedom of operation and building alliances.
In addition, reducing poverty and improving the quality of life of the inhabitants of NORTH OF CAUCA and taking into account that it is an area affected by the armed conflict, the idea of implementing an alternative crop such as Sacha Inchi, also known as Peanut from the Inca, from which flour, roasted seed, oil is obtained as the final product, which in comparison to the oils of other oilseeds used throughout the world, is the richest in unsaturated fatty acids and omegas. By the 100% organic methods used in the cultivation and the industrial extraction process, this is a high quality oil for food, health, control and reduction of cholesterol, regulation of blood pressure, reduction of the triglyceride rate, sugar level regulation, among other benefits; The Agricultural Association of Farmers Hernando Trochez was born with the purpose of installing projects so that the farmers have technical assistance for cultivation, training, production and transformation and finally commercialization.
What led you to create your Social Entrepreneurship?
The reasons why we carry out this initiative is because we want to raise awareness among many of the inhabitants of the municipality of Buenos Aires, Cauca, not to evict their land and put Sacha Inchi cultivation into operation in the municipality, which in addition to benefiting A large part of the population helps to improve their socio-economic conditions, also with this project we will be able to improve the quality of life of its inhabitants, we will recover the water, air, soil, animal habitat and we will reduce drug trafficking.
How does your Social Entrepreneurship impact your community?
It seeks to strengthen the communities of the various paths of the municipality of Buenos Aires, Cauca, in terms of their socioeconomic conditions with the commercialization of their products and the implementation of the production of promising crops such as the Sacha Inchi. With the development of the project, the living conditions of the associates and their families will be improved, it will generate trust in customers, access new markets and obtain a fair price for their products.
What do you dream of happening with your Social Entrepreneurship?
Improve the quality of life of farmers in the region. Generate permanent income to the associates, through the commercialization of the products, at a fair price. Positively impact the environment, with the implementation of crops and organic processes. Offer customers and consumers reliable and safe products. That Buenos Aires Cauca is not known as a territory of conflict, rather as a productive territory.
