Description of Social Entrepreneurship
A group of farmers that make up ARAC stands out for promoting organic agriculture, solidarity economy, fair trade, healthy eating, caring for the environment and dignifying peasant life. The association is made up of 24 members, both native and neo-rural farmers. We currently produce 64 organic products in all the orchards and supply the Subachoque market, the basket, Suna restaurant, among others.
What led you to create your Social Entrepreneurship?
We want to be change managers through the practice and dissemination of agroecology, conceived as a tool for social transformation in harmony with the environment and the improvement of health through food without pesticides.
How does your Social Entrepreneurship impact your community?
Agroecológica Campesina ARAC, is a clear example of mechanisms of peasant association, which in a globalizing context seek to create different development alternatives to the traditional agricultural model of the country, this in order to directly influence territorial development indices.
What do you dream of happening with your Social Entrepreneurship?
We dream that both government and NGOs support and help transform the countryside through tourism, education and technology, in order to make it productive. In addition, the contribution to improve the quality of life of people through healthy eating.
We also want our products to become more accessible to people and that way we can grow the market and increase sales. To help us with transport issues and logistics issues so that our products are not wasted and we always have who buys us the production.
We dream that through education in colleges and universities young people become aware of the importance of the field and the care of the environment, and reach them to encourage the creation of a company in the field and make it a profitable business.
We want to attract tourism in the region from promoting the countryside, nature and a good lifestyle and that the consumer understands the benefits of eating pesticide-free.
