What is agricultural association La Esperanza?
The Project consists of creating a productive agricultural activity for the generation of income of demobilized elderly adults from the guerrillas, in their process of reincorporation to civil society.
This started with a training given by the Agency for Reincorporation and Normalization ARN, and is supported by ADAGRO and the Diocesan Curia of Cartago.
How does the agricultural association La Esperanza create an impact?
Eleven demobilized, elderly adults, began on November 13 of 2017 to plant 10 hectares of cayenne peppers and 10 hectares of cotton. Each one provided 8 million and the entities provided
200 million pesos. To this day they have harvested 120 tons of peppers. Their goal is to acquire a terrain and to grow and improve the quality of life of their associates as well as generating jobs.
How has RECON supported the agricultural association La Esperanza?
They participated in a training program for the strengthening of the social business model in Cali, training given by Impact Hub, Athena and RECON.
Furthermore, the project has been seen in the RECON platform and some news outlets.
