The Women Economic Forum is a regional forum focused on the economy of women. Its objective is to pursue initiatives for the economic progress of women. For the first time, this important forum will be held in Latin America in the city of Cartagena de Indias on August 1,2 and 3. For RECON, it is an honor to be part of the WEF as an ally and also to be notified that its Director Andrés Santamaría and two social enterprises supported by RECON will receive a very special recognition of their work.
This is ANDRÉS SANTAMARÍA, TIERRA GRATA and CAMILA COOPER, who have been developing work for their communities.
Tierra Grata, seeks to provide vulnerable communities in the Caribbean Coast with sanitation, water and energy and Camila Cooper, founder of the CUNAS CON AMOR entrepreneurship, carries cardboard cribs to single mothers, head of families and families who do not have the financial resources to give A bed for your babies.
Andrés Santamaría, director of RECON, will receive the Global Women Economic Forum award for being a leader who contributes to the construction of a better world. Andrés was chosen in the category of men, as one of the 5 who will receive this award.
Tierra Grata, made up of Jenifer Colpas, Alexander Durán and a team of volunteers, will receive the recognition of “Iconic companies that create a better world for everyone” during the framework of the WEF in Cartagena.
Camila, meanwhile, will receive the recognition “Iconic women who create a better world for everyone.” Camila will be one of the 35 leaders who will be awarded, after an arduous selection among 266 postulates. “Having opened that email and knowing that we are going to receive this recognition is a gasoline, a force to motivate us to continue dreaming and being social entrepreneurs. Serving the community is worth it! ”Camila says.
Tierra Grata, affirms that this recognition is “gratifying, because the daily work that we have been doing for more than three years is visible in some way but above all, it is a great responsibility with the rural communities since it encourages us and challenges us to continue growing and continuing to improve to reach other territories where there are still unsatisfied basic services ”.
Both Camila and Tierra Grata are sure that this recognition will open many doors for them to partner with other projects and continue to impact a greater number of people in each of their communities.
From RECON, we are proud of these social entrepreneurs who daily transform realities to build a different future and will be recognized for their work in this important forum. The awards gala will take place on August 2, starting at 6:30 p.m., at El Gran Salón Bolívar in Cartagena de Indias, Colombia.
